New Employee Benefits
In addition to adoption tax credits or deductions offered by federal and state governments, many companies offer significant employee benefits for adoptions. Some Wisconsin companies offer between $2,500 and $7,500 or more in cash payments to employees who have completed adoptions and furnish adoption expense information.
Nationally, some companies are now contributing to their employees’ infertility services. For example, at the upper extreme Intel now contributes up to $40,000 for medical services related to infertility and up to $20,000 for medicine used in infertility treatments. Health insurance plans often exclude infertility services. Some employers are filling the gap by providing the above-described infertility treatment employee benefits.
